KALAKAND – Make any moment sweeter!

Kalakand is an exquisite blend of fresh home-made Cottage Cheese (Paneer) and condensed Milk. It is so luscious and rich, that it is a joy to prepare. Kaland or Qalaqand is a very popular North Indian dessert, which owes its origin to Milk rich, northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.


Diwali – 'The Festival of Lights' is round the corner and most of us have nightmares of getting ready for this season, it is a time when we would love to invite friends and family over for the festive dinner. We want to have a party, a get-together were everyone can enjoy, not that everyone else is enjoying when you are left miserable with this dirty job of mass-catering. For me this is the beginning – Thanksgiving, The Christmas season, New Year is next...


Most of us outside India, do know a bit about Diwali – as more and more people of Indian origin are celebrating it with much fan-fare. In UK Leicester is noted for its Diwali celebrations, with about 35,000 people attending the switch on the lights on Belgrave Road. Diwali is 'the triumph of good over evil' and Diwali in Hindi meaning festival of lights. Traditionally Deepavali (deep – light and avali – a row of lights) involves lighting of small clay lamps (diyas) and this festival continues for four days illuminating the Indian skies.
