Fasting is merely a digestive and physiological resting phase of the body during which the body is enabled to devote all its energies to eliminating the accumuation of wastes, poisonous and toxic matter which are responsible for most ailments, from the system.

fasting therapy
The philosophy of fasting is that the digestive organs like the stomach and the intestines and the assimilative organs like the liver are given complete rest whereas depurating organs like kidneys, bowels, the lungs and the skin are allowed full play to carry off the effects and dead matter which have acted as an ecumbrance in normal physiological actions.
Fasting should not be confused with starvation.
